An average Norwegian wedding costs around 176,000 kr, but the range is huge. Pick what applies to you and get a realistic estimate.
Estimated total cost
258,000 to 349,000 kr
This is a rough estimate based on typical Norwegian prices. Real prices vary a lot with location, season and vendor.
The venue is often the single biggest line item. A simple community hall or barn can come in under 15,000 kr, while a popular hotel or manor easily passes 80,000 kr in summer season. Most couples land somewhere between 30,000 and 50,000 kr.
Food and drink is the part that grows fastest with guest count. Plan for around 1,100 kr per guest for a typical three course dinner, and 400 to 500 kr per guest for wine, beer and bubbles. With 70 guests that quickly becomes 100,000 kr on the table alone.
Photography usually lands between 25,000 and 35,000 kr for a full day with an experienced photographer and edited images. Add a videographer and you often add another 25,000 kr, but many couples skip this line.
Music and entertainment spans widely. A solid DJ runs around 15,000 to 20,000 kr, a professional band often sits at 40,000 to 50,000 kr. Ceremony music and a toastmaster come on top if you want them.
We add a 10 percent buffer by default, because something always comes up. This estimate is a good starting point, but real prices vary a lot with location, season and vendor. Get quotes early, so you know where you actually land.
